LetsCode was founded to enhance access to coding skills for students of underserved communities. Through step-by-step coding lessons, a user-friendly activity book and a fundraiser to help establish a computer lab at a local NGO, LetsCode aims to make coding education accessible to the students of these communities.
Our mission is to ensure that all students regardless of background are able to participate in the future that is going to rely on coding and computer literacy.
Some of the key project elements are detailed below:
LetsCode Teaching Resources We have created comprehensive curriculum for Python and Excel for various proficiency levels
LetsCode Activity Book is for people with no experience with programming and provides conceptual understanding of key Python basics across 5 chapters. Each chapter will have step-by-step activities tailored for the students’ unique learning needs.
LetsCode Guide Slides are created for Python and Excel. These are reference guides for hands-on step by step learning on computer
LetsCode Fundraising Campaign We successfully conducted a fundraise collecting 75,000/- for setup of Computer Lab for Hamari Pahchan. Two computers and software subscription were purchased as part of the computer lab setup. Python learning environment was setup by Sidharth on these computers
LetsCode Workshops Sidharth conducted 5 sessions with Hamari Pahchan to teach the basics of Python to kids. First 3 sessions were conducted online and last two were done in person
LetsCode Volunteer Network Sidharth will collaborate with the SAS Digital Citizens Club to gather volunteers who will be trained in the most effective teaching methods to continue hosting and teaching the online workshops
We hope to create a lasting impact in the lives of these communities through a concerted effort
